Community Empowerment Workshop
September 16, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - December 15, 2020 @ 2:00 pm UTC+0
Some of the greatest acts in history started with a person who had a desire to change the world they lived in. In communities like Trenton many of the city’s challenges are meet by these good people who see a need and choose to do something about it. They have a passion to organize around the work they are doing, recruit help in their effort and create a legal non-profit in order to establish the work. However; many of them are unfamiliar with the process of incorporating and the business of non-profit work. This is why The Smith Family Foundation NJ Community Empowerment Workshop was established! This workshop is designed to help non-profit leadership and concerned citizens of our community to become more active in their mission as it pertains to improving life conditions in our city. We believe community empowerment refers to the process of enabling communities to increase control over their lives by working to improve the need that they have discovered is missing and to reestablish the city’s identity from within the city limits. The Smith Family Foundation NJ is excited to begin open enrollment for our 4th cohort of community empowerment workshop participants. Classes begin October 2020 and meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM. If your organization is interest in being the change that you want to see in our community, please contact Tara Butler, Director of Community at 609.888.6300 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
“Today I sat down with the Smith Foundation for a workshop for my Non-Profit. Must say, I am happy I enlisted. To see others wanting to work towards a purpose as well, was great. Smith’s Workshop was Informative and Empowering. Great Job Mr. Harold and Family.”
